Job Analysis
Accurately analyzing an individual’s job is an essential element in successfully implementing an early return to work for injured employees. The job analysis must be accurate, objective and should include a description of the worker’s job activities or functions, how the work is performed, the results of the work and individual characteristics of the job.
Our Case Managers understand the most effective way to gather objective job function data is through a thorough on-site job analysis. This allows our staff first-hand observation of the tasks and activities involved in the position. Accuracy of the job analysis is crucial. The results of the analysis assist in determining whether or not the employee can return to their usual and customary position.
If after reviewing the job analysis the physician determines the individual is unable to perform their usual and customary job, the analysis can be used in determining if the position or job function/s can be altered or modified. Thus, presenting the employee with the opportunity to return to work in an alternative or modified position.
